I have seen the raven's black wings shut out the sun
And bring darkness to the world
And his cruel beak stab and tear
I have heard the raven say
"Oh, but this was not something I could ever do
I'm good, you know, I'm on the right side
"And if anyone tells you that it isn't so
Well, they are taking you for a ride."
I have seen and heard
The Emperor's heralds hail the raven
And blame the corpses his beak shredded
For their own demise
And the Emperor's heralds further said
That there was no darkness overlying
And all was right with the world.
